Hi, I’m Tara Conti Bansal — a financial planner, life coach, lifelong learner, recovering perfectionist, wife, mother and proud co-host of the Messy Middlescence podcast.
For over two decades, I’ve helped individuals and families clarify what matters most, align their goals with their values, and move toward lives they truly love — not just on paper, but in practice.
I bring a holistic, human-first approach to my work. Whether through financial planning or life coaching, my mission is simple:
🧭 Help people get clear on what they want, set meaningful goals, and build a life that feels joyful, connected, and intentional.
💼 Professional Background
I went to Life Coaching school in 2004 and then started working as a financial planner in 2005 and have worked as both a financial planner and life coach ever since. I’m a:
- CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™
- Certified Life Coach through the NLP Institute of California
- Currently working towards my certification with Martha Beck’s Wayfinder Life Coach Training
My background is a bit unconventional — I started in chemical engineering, earned an MBA with a focus in finance, and spent time in corporate IT consulting. That analytical foundation now blends with my passion for personal growth, emotional wellness, and human connection. It’s a unique mix that allows me to serve clients with both my head and my heart.
💜 Why This Work Matters to Me
As one of seven children, I grew up valuing connection, resilience, and flexibility. But for much of my life, I’ve also wrestled with the big questions:
What am I meant to do? Who am I supposed to be? Why am I here?
For years, I chose the practical path — taking the logical next step, doing the “shoulds,” taking the people-pleasing route. And while I’ve made my share of “wrong turns,” I now believe that:
- There are no mistakes — only lessons
- None of us ever fully grow up (and that’s the way it should be!)
- Life is meant to be messy, uncertain, and always evolving
Midlife has brought me some clarity — and also more questions. That’s why I launched my newest podcast, Her Life, Her Practice, Her Way, to highlight the stories, strengths, and shared wisdom of female financial advisors who are living and working in ways that feel right to them.
And with my sister Tina, I created Messy Middlescence — a heart-centered, real-talk podcast about navigating midlife with humor, grace, and growth.
🌱 What I Believe
- You can be successful and have boundaries.
- Life should be meaningful and joyful, not just productive.
- Your career should support your life — not the other way around.
- The answers you need are already inside you (sometimes you just need space to hear them).
📚 Outside the Office…
I live in Princeton, NJ with my husband and two amazing sons, who keep me humble, inspired, and laughing daily. I love reading (including self-help books), long walks, meaningful conversations, great food, and being outside whenever I can.
✨ Let’s Connect
Whether you’re a fellow advisor, a seeker in midlife, or simply someone who’s trying to live a little more intentionally — you’re welcome here.
Life is a journey. I’d love for us to walk a piece of it together.
